If there were ever a perfect day to hike in Boston, this was it. Not too sunny (no one melting), not too cold (no one shivering), not too hot (no dramatic complaints) — basically the kind of weather that makes you believe life is under control.
⛰️ When a 'Professional Hiker' Appears...
That 'different route' included: √ Rocks √ Climbing √ More rocks √ Even more climbing. To be fair, it was totally manageable — but also just enough challenge to make everyone feel like we earned our snacks later.
Somewhere between 'Is this still a trail?' and 'Wait, are we rock climbing now?', we all leveled up our hiking skills. 😄
🧭 Unexpected Friends (and Navigation Plot Twist)
Along the way, we met two friendly Black hikers and their adorable dog 🐕. They kindly helped us take a group photo — future 朋友圈素材 √
Then came the twist. On our way back, when we passed over one exit, we lost our way… buffering… we ran into them again! They confidently said they knew the way back to their parking lot. Just when our hiking leader decided to go opposite way, Xiaowen took out her GPS and very confidently say that we should follow the black brothers. We thought: Great! Let's follow confident people!
Plot twist #2: Their route somehow led us perfectly back to our parking lot… but not to theirs 😅 And yes — we met again at our parking lot, laughed about it, and collectively agreed: 🧭 Confidence ≠ Directional Accuracy
🧺 Picnic = The Real Main Event
After conquering rocks, trails, and mild existential navigation questions, we arrived at the most important part: PICNIC TIME. And wow, did everyone deliver.
🥛 Dr. Haihong brought homemade soy milk — warm, comforting, and surprisingly fancy
🍉 Grace brought watermelon and croissants (because balance)
🔪 Jacky brought the knife — arguably the most important item for watermelon success
☕ Also Jacky (overachiever) brought coffee and donuts
🍬 Xiaowen's homemade 雪花酥? Gone in seconds. No survivors. Legendary status achieved.
☕ The Great Soy Milk Coffee Experiment
In a moment of scientific curiosity (or mild chaos), we asked: 🤔 Can soy milk replace regular milk in coffee? Results: Mixed. Very mixed. Some said: 'Not bad!' Others said: 'Let's not do that again.' Science was done. Conclusions remain… flexible.
💚 The Real Takeaway
No one got lost (officially). Everyone got a little stronger. And we all laughed — a lot. It wasn't just a hike. It was:
√ A mini adventure
√ A social gathering
√ A snack festival
√ A reminder that getting slightly lost together is actually kind of fun
🏃♀️ What's Next?
We're already talking about the next hike 🥾 (and possibly improving our navigation skills… maybe). If you missed this one — don't worry. We're saving you a spot next time. 💚 More people = more fun = more snacks = better wrong turns 😄
WECAN — together, we can… eventually find the right trail.
